Does Custom Modular Homes of New England provide financing?

CMHNE does not directly provide financing, but we have an working relationship with Salem 5 for new construction. If you would like to learn more about financing and Salem 5, check out the Finance tab on our website for more information!

Do we have to choose a design from the catalog or can we design a custom home?

More than 80% of the homes we build each year are customized to meet the homeowner’s individual wants and needs. We can start building from your ideas and iron out the details or you can always choose one of our pre-designed model homes. For more information, check out the Custom Homes page on our website!

So, are we allowed to make changes to a model from your catalog?

Yes! We realize that no two families, no two homeowners will have the same needs, wants, or likes, so our catalog is a great place to start. If you choose to rearrange the floor plan of one of our designs to better suit your lifestyle…we are more than happy to work with you on it!

Can we choose a particular brand of windows, appliances, etc., or are we limited to which materials we can use for our home?

You can absolutely select brand names for the materials used in your new home! If you would like to make some modifications as far as material specifications, contact Paul George at CMHNE for a product list.

Is there a charge for a price estimate?

At Custom Modular Homes of New England, there is no cost for a price estimate. You’ll need to provide us with some general information about the home you’d like to build in order to receive a ballpark price within a few days. That’s it!

Can we visit the New England Homes manufacturing facility for a plant tour?

Yes you sure can! Contact Paul George at CMHNE to schedule a plant tour with our supplier, New England Homes.

Does Custom Modular Homes of New England also provide building lots?

Although we can’t guarantee we will always have building lots, from time to time we may have lots available. Contact us to check it out!

Do modular homes cost less than a conventional stick built home?

On average, modular homes cost 10-15% less than a stick built home. All modular homes can be customized and designed to fit your needs, but the amount of savings is oftentimes determined by how standard your home is.

How much does it cost per square foot to build a CMHNE home?

 It can range from $90 per foot to $175 per foot, not including the price you pay for your land.  Many variables can determine the final cost. The style of the home, the type and manufacturer of the windows, doors, appliances, and interior finishes all will affect the price of your new home. We will help fit you into the home that best fits your budget.

Could we do some of the work on our home as well?

This should always be discussed prior to contract with CMHNE as to determine what services you will be responsible for. Would you like to do your own painting? Landscaping? Or have a turn-key completed home? All these options are available to you!

What is the resale value of a Modular Home?

Modular Homes will hold their value the same as stick built homes will.
