Air Conditioning Tips

During these hot summer months, many homeowners have questions about their air conditioning units. Some of these issues can be resolved without the assistance of an HVAC specialist. Before calling for service always:

• Check to see that the thermostat is properly set.
• Check the circuit breaker in the panel box. If tripped, reset by switching the breaker from full “Off” position to “On”. If the circuit breaker will not reset, contact the HVAC contractor.
• Check the electrical disconnect switch, located on or near the air handler, and reset.
• Check the exterior disconnect switch located outside the home near the compressor, and reset.
